These paintings were prompted by memories, by nature, and by the events of recent months. These events and experiences were explored, deepened, and made palpable through the act of painting. For me, the process of painting involves an intensely pleasurable sensation of touch, and a deep emotional response to color and gesture. The paintings are about the mysterious alchemy which turns pigment into expressive, evocative form.
