FUNDAMENTALS OF DRAWING AND PAINTING (For adults and selected teens)
This class provides a thorough foundation for beginning and continuing artists. Essential elements of line, form, value, composition and color are investigated through guided exercises and lessons. Materials and techniques of oil and acrylic painting will be covered. Examples from artists through the ages illuminate and illustrate aspects of art, as well as broaden understanding and appreciation. Students will emerge from this class with a solid framework and a sound approach to painting.THURSDAYS, 4:00 - 6:00

PAINTING (For adults and selected teens)
This class builds upon basics covered in Fundamentals of Drawing & Painting and prepares students for a fulfilling on-going practice. Focus is on the development of space, depth & form through composition and color. Working with expanded palettes and new approaches and techniques, students will work on larger and more extended compositions, as well as independent projects. Fundamentals of Drawing and Painting or equivalent is recommended.SATURDAYS, 1:30 - 4:00

PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP (For adults and selected teens)
Relief Printing is the oldest form of printmaking, yielding vibrant and exciting graphic results. In this class we will look at many examples of relief prints, including Japanese Ukiyo, German Expressionism, political graphics, graphic novels, and individual printmakers such as Jose Posado and Picasso, to explore various aspects of design and composition. Using Japanese tools, we will carve linoleum and print on an etching press.No previous experience is required.TUESDAYS, 6:00 - 8:00

ATELIER
For intermediate and advanced students, this is an opportunity to work in the studio independently with the option of input from other artists and/or instructor.PRIVATE INSTRUCTION & SMALL GROUPS
Offered to selected students by arrangement.Internships, portfolio consultation, and apprenticeships are also available.
